..to the land of the pines.
I am North Carolina bound tomorrow, and I could not be more ready for a little R&R with my main squeeze. We have a sushi date planned for tomorrow night, then we are driving up to Morgantown, WV to meet up with friends for the Texas football game.
We have been told that the Mountaineer fans are not the most friendly, so we will NOT be donning burnt orange all weekend, but don’t get me wrong, I am going to wear a burnt orange scarf that I can shove in my purse.
On my current packing list:
However, I really hope they sing Country Roads, because I will definitely join in.
Also, I told T I was going to wear jeans a scarf to the game and he replied “Don’t you think you should wear a shirt?” My word. Men…
I have been MIA for a couple of weeks after experiencing some ups and downs with the family. First an engagement party for my sister and soon to be brother-in-law, then the passing of my grandmother, Nana, as we called her. Thank you to everyone who kept her in your thoughts and prayers over the past couple of weeks. She is no longer in pain, but please continue praying for my Poppi. My Nana was a strong willed woman, and my Poppi is a little lost without her. I know he will find his way, but this has all been very hard for him.
Due to the family emergency, I missed the Texas football game last weekend, so this post finds me gearing up for my first home game of the season. With that in mind: What will I wear? With the temps in the high 90’s during the afternoon, and in the 60’s at night, I think I am going to aim for something like this…
I am firm believer that Texas football can turn any situation around. Nothing is greater than filing into DKR after being gone for to long, to watch the Horns play. I will take a picture tomorrow of my attempt to build this outfit and post it next week.
If you are a Texas fan and have not heard the new Django Walker song, Texas Longhorn, please enjoy.
…but who’s really counting?!
I am. Football season happens to be my favorite season of the year. Not because my birthday falls within that time frame, but because I am an avid Longhorn football fan. After last season, if you can even call it a season, I needed a little inspiration to get me ready for another fall. I found a few burnt orange pieces to get me excited.
Diane Von Furstenberg never fails to incorporate orange into her line. I love these two pieces.
Not everyone can wear that much orange. Kendra Scott jewelry is a great way to add orange to your more neutral game day attire.
Colored denim is in right now, and I may be trying that trend out this fall, with this fabulous pair of J Brand skinny jeans in a rusty hue.
Which of these would you consider adding to your fall closet?
